The physiotherapist will start by asking you details about your problem - how the problem occurred, how long it has been present and how it is affecting your lifestyle now.
This is followed by an examination of the area affected and other related joints or muscles. As part of the assessment you may be asked to remove some items of outer clothing. This allows us to look closely at movement and function of the affected area, as well as use specific testing techniques to identify the cause of your problem.
At the end of the assessment our aim is:
To provide you with a clear explanation of our findings.
To discuss your treatment plan and its aim.
To offer you advice on self help and to teach you appropriate exercises.
